The Dallas Regional Chamber’s State of the Region conference will feature a powerhouse of local mayors from Fort Worth, Arlington, Frisco, Garland, McKinney and Richardson. The event will be at the Renaissance Dallas hotel in Richardson, starting at 8:30 a.m.
Prolific biographer Walter Isaacson turns his efforts to the Declaration of Independence with his new book The Greatest Sentence Ever Written. He’ll speak at the Dallas Museum of Art at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for museum members and $35 for others.
Earnings results on deck include tech company Salesforce, as well as a few that should give insights on holiday shopping sentiment, like Dollar Tree, Five Below and Macy’s.
Thursday, Dec. 4
The Dallas Regional Chamber’s Young Professionals group is hosting a year-end celebration from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tower Club. Tickets are $40 for nonmembers and $25 for members.
Kroger reports third quarter earnings along with Dollar General, Ulta and Hormel Foods.
Friday, Dec. 5
Federal data is back, although it’s coming in a little slower because of effects from the government shutdown. The Bureau of Labor Statistics will release two key pieces of data, the Consumer Price Index and employment situation reports for November.
Saturday, Dec. 6
Watch out for glitter and sequins in downtown Dallas. The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center is playing host to the Spirit Celebration Grand Nationals cheerleading competition, put on by Farmers Branch-headquartered Varsity. The event runs through Sunday, Dec. 7.
And end the week with the Metroplex Meows Cat Club Show at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth on Saturday and Sunday.
