Is this really that low? I use electricity as I normally would. I'm not neglecting myself of anything I wouldn't do.

  1. 66kWh per what? Week, Month? Apartment? House? How many people live there?

  2. For a person in a developed country this is extraordinarily low. This is the amount of power you would use by leaving a desktop computer turned on all the time and literally nothing else, not even a lamp. Certainly not a heater or a stove or an air conditioner. Do you even have a refrigerator?

  3. Do you have solar panels? Because otherwise that is pretty low. Mines is 120kWh/month and I think that’s low!

  4. Do you have solar panels? Where on the planet is this (approximately)?

  5. You would have to add how much you spend on candles per cycle though, it’s still part of your energy usage.

  6. Maybe tell us if you have a washing machine/ dryer/ oven. 2KWH/day is pretty low. That is less than 1 load of washing.

  7. Caring about how we produce and use energy is not something to get clowned for, it is literally one of the biggest levers we have on money, comfort, and climate.

If your friends think that is lame, that says more about their curiosity than about you.

  8. You’re using an average of 91.667 watts. That is not a lot. But neither is it nothing. Your efficient neighbors are consuming only 2.27 times more than you. Well, they likely have more people in their home than you do.

I’m guessing your entertainment is a phone, tablet, laptop, and/or a modest TV. I’m guessing you eat out a lot. Lighting is LEDs. I’m guessing your heat and hot water are either gas or included in your rent.

  9. Lighting is the least demanding in energy now that led exist. Candles are definitely more expensive. Stove, hot water, heating, cooling, higher end electronics will be the real draw of power.

  10. That’s what I use. All my friends are jealous. That’s with solar panels. You are the future.

  11. thats great, last bill i got was for 1200kWh in october.

  12. Edit – Everybody wanted to know more about my situation.

    – I live in Northeast US
    – Have Natural Gas Heat (Gas Bill is usually only $20-$25 even in January)
    – Work 3rd shift and live alone
    – Use Complex provided laundry facilities
    – Mainly use my Phone and Switch Lite as my entertainment
    – This is using public electricity, No solar involved right now.
    – I make simple meals and make a lot of my meals at home,I have an electric oven but I use my air fryer 95% of the time.
    – I’ve lit 2 candles the past 6 months as ambiance only and not for lighting 🤣

-Have a Mini Fridge and shop Bi weekly

-Hand wash my dishes due to the small amount of meal-ware I use

  13. Myself and my 2 EVs thank you for freeing up the grid in the northeast 😂

  14. Wow, an average of 92W is amazing. My house uses 70W with everything turned off except the fridge, the two internet routers and the TV recorder box

  15. I hope the candles are the ones that don’t give off toxic fumes.

  16. Not.good to breathe candles. Leds use almost nothing, so thata not why your use is low

  17. We have the same thing going on. At first, I thought maybe this was a feel-good campaign “Look how eco-friendly your house is!” because you are getting them too. Apparently though people really do use a lot of power.

  18. as an environmental nerd and someone who has been in renewables for years, yeah 1. you are using an extremely low amount of electricity and 2. that is something you should be proud of!! very cool & impressive imo

  19. I’m using between 1500 and 2500kwh per month, that said I have an electric dryer and I’m charging an EV at home

  20. I’d use candles just for the ethos of it, but not for actual lighting unless I was literally on the verge of poverty and every saved penny counted. Even then I’d probably go with portable LEDs.
