    It doesn’t matter that Kyiv disputed the claim, saying on Tuesday that fighting was still going on inside the city and that Moscow’s “bravura statements” about the capture of Pokrovsk “do not match the reality.”

    The point of the highly choreographed meeting between Putin and his top military brass was to show the world that Russia is winning in Ukraine.

    Putin has indicated he has no interest in finding compromises. He [reiterated](https://www.cnn.com/2025/11/27/europe/putin-trump-ukraine-peace-intl) his maximalist demands that Ukraine limits the size of its army, gives up some of its territory, and is banned from joining NATO.

    Sure, nobody is disputing that. It surely isn’t blitzkrieg though and both sides will run out of money before Russia takes Ukraine

  4. I’m not sure mocking putin for wearing fatigues is that effective, given Zelensky has been wearing them since day 1 of the war. I’m also not entirely sure what anyone means when they desribe demands as ‘maximalist’ any more. He could most assuredly demand more than he already is.
