Why not just allow this every night like in basically every other city on earth?
Alcohol has many negative effects, including damage to the liver, heart, and brain, and an increased risk of cancer, stroke, and high blood pressure. It can also weaken the immune system, lead to pancreatitis and other digestive issues, and negatively impact mental health, causing depression, anxiety, and impaired cognitive function. Furthermore, alcohol can lead to social and financial problems, and increases the risk of injury from accidents or violence.
Drinking too much – on a single occasion or over time – can take a serious toll on your health. The whole body is affected by alcohol use–not just the liver, but also the brain, gut, pancreas, lungs, cardiovascular system, immune system, and more.
Current research points to health risks even at low amounts of alcohol consumption, regardless of beverage type.
Our mainland European friends would be very confused by this headline.

The main reason as a Scotsman to support England in Major tournaments.
When England have been doing well in big tournaments last few years, the vibes around the city are so good. Everyone out late and in good moods. Folk clocking out of work at 3pm in the summer to bugger off and watch the footy. It’s great.
Unlike other countries for the most part, the reason shit closes earlier than anywhere else in Europe is because we’re a bunch of coked up pissheads and can’t be trusted to not cause trouble, not because of Sharon next door to your local.
Im not sure people could afford to continue drinking for another 2 hours anyway. Most of the pubs I go to start emptying out by 10pm. All the clubs further down the tube line are empty most days. What little proper boozers are left don’t even get a third full. Its a small sample size comparatively, but for a lot of places opening later would just cost more money for little to no return.
This is in response to the “everywhere else in Europe” comments.

I hardly bother going out because of the UKs silly times, sometimes I’m up for heading out at 9pm but no point when the last order bell rings at 22:30 in most places I go to
