Energy infrastructure under fire amid Ukraine peace talks • FRANCE 24 English
Over the past few weeks, Russia has been ramping up its attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. 117 targets were struck in October alone. In November, infrastructure in cities across the country were hit by strikes. This power plant was partially destroyed in an attack. Technicians are working to repair it as quickly as possible. We know it can happen at any moment. There are alerts every night. This time it hit us. Some say we’re prepared for this, but what can we do in the face of an attack like this? The power plant was struck multiple times in October and November, and some technicians feel a sense of deja vu. There’s one production site, which I won’t name, that we’re repairing for the third time. We’re rebuilding it from scratch. It’s been completely destroyed. Electricity production in Ukraine has been reduced by 50% compared to pre-war levels. The country is forced to manage the shortage. At nightfall, Kev plunges into darkness. Neighborhoods in the capital take turns connecting from the energy grid to save electricity. Businesses run on generators. For residents, the power cuts are a nightmare to deal with. This woman has to climb 24 flights of stairs just to get home. I feel not good because I’m pregnant. I get my doctor said that I don’t have to do that. But I have no choice. Let’s go. Yes. You have. Zenia doesn’t know how she’ll manage in the coming months. She is due to give birth in March.
Russia continues to target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, reducing electricity production by 50% and forcing residents and businesses to cope with rolling blackouts. Despite recent peace talks, attacks like the drone strike on Zaporizhzhia highlight the ongoing threat and looming difficulties for Ukrainians, including pregnant residents facing daily hardships. France 2 reports.

is this France 24 English , or France 24 Rainbow Engilsh ?
Yes, the war Macron wanted is ongoing and it isn't pretty. As Macron is determined to sabotage the current round of peace talks it will go on. It's going to be a hard winter in Ukraine.
What peace talks? Russia just refused the EU and ukranians version of the agreement.
Let Ukraine win back last bit of land from Russia. Slava Ukrania 💪💪💪
December Russia can do better 😅😅😅😅😅 i hope strike 220 targets 😅😅😅😅 go Russia f Ukraine 😅
Ukraine crimea ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
OOOOOOH NOW YOU CANT INTERCEPT NOW 😂😂😂😂
Always, When Trump peace plan for UKrain is That signal time that Russia needs to destroy Ukrain. That mean Trump give green light to Putin to go destroy Ukraine
Cold winter ahead for Ukraine.
And it'll get worse before it gets any better…there's no realistic peace agreement in sight. What a tragedy!
I hope we find a way to help Ukraine convert over at least some of it's energy infrastructure to be decentralized and renewable.
Although it is hard to get consistent power from some sources of renewable energy, it is very difficult to cut off the flow entirely when every roof has a solar panel on it and every house has it's own battery back.
This odd like going to couples therapy while your wife beating husband continues to pound you on the face
