y’all, even for the 80s, those first overalls were tragic.
Love casual Diana style – she inspires me now, especially the shorts and oversized crew combo.
Fergie’s dad in picture one.
Man, deep down inside, when I get nostalgic, I do not actually miss the part of the 80s, 90, early aughts (which she sadly never saw) where they had both our entire genders/generation conceptually viewing this at times, overweight. How she struggled with ideals that I believe if she looked back now on old photos like I do my old photos, she could say “damn, I looked great, but I know in that moment; me, then would tell you multiple ways I was working out or restricting in some nuance. How unhappy that made me in a clear prime of my Life”.
I really feel like the casual styles she wore have aged better than a lot of the formal 80s styles.
The last look is the most iconic!!!!
No offence but Charles downgraded so badly, he certainly punched above.
Damn never realized she had jacked legs.
I don’t get it. most of these looks are completely average to me. they’re fine but not particularly stylish or special. she looks good, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like people say these looks were “iconic” and I just don’t see it. bike shorts and sweatshirts and tennis clothes are not iconic.
ETA: I do love the black sheep sweater though. that deserves its rep.
I mean … there’s a reason we’re still obsessed with her. Beauty is one thing – but the style, those eyes. She was truly spectacular.
What makes them sooooo iconic is that this is not how people in the 80s or 90s dressed to look chic. We can look back on it now to see it was casual chic but to have done in then, is what really makes it special. The 80s & 90s were devoid of fashion sense. Diana made it make sense, and that is what’s brilliant 💎
The black sheep jumper was indeed iconic 😂 Charles would have been furious!
Girl could wear a pear of jeans like 🤌🏻😘
She was cool.
Dressed down Diana was such an icon. She makes it look so effortless and cool.
The ironed jeans with the leg crease is so early 80s
