It will be great when it’s done. These things take time, unfortunately.
Let’s all be honest here, it will never get built. And frankly speaking, we don’t need it.
AI is going to take over all jobs anyways, no need for humans to commute, and exist.
They have the trains. They’re currently testing them on the line. They can be powered by onboard batteries or overhead lines so aren’t waiting on the power lines being installed. And still they arbitrarily push it out by 3 years at the very least with no explanation.
Seriously, WTF is wrong with this country?
Voting out the Greens was a bit mistake
Ah sure the grandkids might have it
The Minister with Responsibility for Rail is Sean Canney and his ONLY rail priority is the Western Rail Corridor.
There is a long list of cutting to be done in other rail projects to pay for it

There was an article/audio from RTÉ about the M50 being at max capacity, this problem could’ve been solved by investment into rail networks and the luas but of course not
If this government had an endless line of credit that never had to be paid back, they would still find ways to delay and postpone projects.
There’s no drive at all with this government. We’re crying out for investment in public infrastructure and when it seems some positive progress is being made, they do a rug pull.
I’m just so disappointed.
Call me dramatic but this is an absolute tragedy, not specifically for the project being pushed out for another four years minimum. But because it really shows that this current government will not prioritise public transport, despite the infrastructure being needed as soon as possible. Disastrous news to hear
Punishing the greens and have FFFG replace them with lunatic independents will do that.
I expect Dart+ to Drogheda to be “paused” soon enough too.
We really need to bring back executing people who fail their public infrastructure projects. It was good motivation
Jesus Christ why? Can the not see the traffic chaos around Dublin especially and around the country!
Don’t delay these projects, he them fast tracked, get them built
Fuck sake madness
Our government waste all the tax we pay
Sorry lads no rail money left, they’ve allocated it all to roads that won’t help traffic
At this stage, a 52% marginal tax rate for current spending only is a crass joke.
I work in corporate advisory, this administration doesn’t seem to realise they are way past their last chance when it comes to sorting infrastructure / housing etc. when it comes to inward investment here. Until we build great companies of our own, that is what we are reliant on.
Thank God I’m leaving come March 2026.
This is what happens when the greens get voted out.
There are pharmaceutical factories with a million miles of more red tape popping up out of the ground all around the country. Why the hell can we not build anything.

I for one am shocked! Shocked I tell you.
