They’re trying to ban Christmas!!! You get thrown in jail just for saying you’re English! They’re going to change the name to Muhammadmas!
This is going to make a huge difference to peoples live, especially when they walk out of the bank and are surrounded by it all anyway….
Good job HSBC, well done for being outta touch..
To be fair you don’t want to be told your home is getting repossessed by a guy in a bright jumper with “Ho Ho Ho” embroidered on it.
Business has dress policies. Stop the presses.
More Telegraph ragebait. Observe and move on.
Can we just stop trying to pander to the very small population who lack emotional control?
That’s just bloody silly. OK fair enough, people might be going through shit at the moment. Them same people would have walked through town centres that have all the decorations and lights on, probably been in other shops with Christmas music playing etc.
Just a fucking cynical ploy by the bank to do it and make sure they tell everyone they’re doing it so they can say ‘look, see we really care’.
Christmas jumpers just scream “forced happiness” to me, a bit like comedy ties, and I can’t stand them. Not remotely a religious item either, so maybe try to keep it professional.
Thank god! I despise them
I get this, it’s not a religious thing. It’s about a professional appearance for people who might not care that it’s Christmas for whatever reason. Its mad they have to put it in the media though.

More shite from torygraph
Gets into car, turns on radio.
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUU .
I remember having to buy a £30 jumper from M&S at orders of my then MD.
At the time I had no face to face meetings outside of work stuff. And dear God it made me hot!
Left in February the next year. Still got the jumper. Never been worn since.
I agree with the why – a bank is a formal setting
The how, not so much.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, I genuninly believe that theres some secret underground shit happening where someones being paid to try make christmas sound like “its being banned from labour/left”, so the right can seem more appealing for the “common folk”.
Dumb racist pig fucking GB news types : we like need to talk about men’s mental health when is men’s mental health week we need menism
Also dumb racist pig fucking GB news types : men facing additional financial pressues being treated more sensitively? They should be beaten for being weak cucks also I’m racist
Honestly. Being a gbeebies viewer should make you eligible for pips. Get a carer in, stop you confusing chocolate mousse and bum mousse every morning.
The Daily Mail comments section is a dumpster fire as you’d expect.
It is understood that the decision had nothing to do with cultural sensitivities. A HSBC spokesman said: “We are encouraging colleagues to celebrate Christmas in branches in lots of different ways, including decorating branches, team celebrations and festive lunches.
“However, it’s important to also remember that branches are spaces where customers receive a range of specialist services that require professionalism and sensitivity. This year, we have asked colleagues in customer-facing roles not to wear Christmas jumpers to reflect this.”
In short, staff are allowed to celebrate Christmas, but if you are giving difficult and emotional financial support to vulnerable clients, dress appropriately.
Pathetic headline from the Telegraph.
That’s fair enough.
Is this bank still going ?
Spare a thought for those little chinese kids that produce this tat.
In my defense, I never suspected that ‘Now I have a Machine Gun. Ho. Ho. Ho’ Christmas Jumper would promote such a strong reaction.
And, in hindsight, no matter how nippy it was outside, wearing the balaclava was not my greatest fashion statement.
Still, we all saw the funny side, after I stopped convulsing. Those tasers sting a bit, I can tell you.
Fair enough
I get this. When I worked at Lloyds me and the manager had a full blown argument with a rude guy who didn’t have the right documents…
undermined a little by us both wearing Christmas jumpers and fluffy reindeer antlers. The guy was straight faced throughout and no one made any mention of it.
Genuinely intrigued if this is just public facing branch level or across all HSBC products (first direct if they still have branches) and their corporate operations that don’t deal with customers directly.
These days.
HSBC are evil, the ran a con where if you went out of you overdraft they would charge you £25 for each transaction. This forced people into debt and made them a lot of money till they had to pay it back. I’ve heard rumours that they’re propped up with cartel money.
