where in 2025 are you finding a 3 bedroom house for 700 a fuckin month
Biggest mistake I ever made was moving out of London. Now it’s almost impossible to move back.
And don’t fool yourself: the cost of living outside of London is nearly the same. In London, you don’t need a car. Figure in your automotive/transport costs along with your housing costs when you look at living outside of the city and it becomes clear you’re not saving much, if anything.
We all have different ideas of what entails quality of life, but I preferred having all the wonders one could ever want literally at my doorstep, with easy travel to the seaside or mountains whenever I fancied a day out. Life in the suburbs or even rural life is quite fixed: not much variation and far fewer options.
Yeahhhhhh it’s definitely not 10 mins
3 bed terrace in Newcastle 795 pcm. Vibrant city with excellent transport system.
Move out of London and live in some live live laugh nowheresville watching House of Guiness and going to Toby Carvery while waiting to die.
But also, 10 min commute to what job?
Non London people hate London so much and think about it often, but fail to acknowledge that no one gives a shit.
London is a fantastic place. I would prefer to visit, rather than live there, though.
£800 a month mortgage, an hour from London if I really need to go there except I really don’t generally because it’s overcrowded and overpriced.
Work from home full time and 15 minutes walk from the town centre with all the pubs, clubs, cinema and restaurants that I could ask for.
Maidstone life 👍.
Living in London has allowed me to job hop
From £30kg to £50k to £80k to £110k in 8 years.
I could never have done that living outside this City.
My favourite part of these threads is all of the Londoners talking about the north like it’s a nuclear wasteland. I like to encourage it because it stops them moving up here and fucking with our housing market.
London is super comfortable for me as a person of colour though. People are so chill. People in less cosmopolitan parts of Britain tend to treat me funny. So yeah, am stuck with the high cost of living.
Funny, thats how I look at people from towns with dying high streets, dysfunctional public transport and rising unemployment rates telling me to move out of London
What is the point in this post? People live where they have to live.
Where are you getting a 3 bed house for £700 ? That’s a 10 min commute to town ?
Bubble dwellers simply cannot comprehend life outside the bubble
Commute to where? And from where? Where is it that you can rent a three bed house for 700 quid?
Where is this London where people don’t complain about housing costs?
10 minute commute to where? To Clacton pier souvenir shop?
You’re either a big city person or you’re not. I do not want to live in a small place. My job takes me to cities like New York, Singapore, San Francisco… I recently got back from LA. I would rather live in a smaller property in London than live in a larger property in my northern hometown. If you don’t fundamentally like living in a supercity then London’s not for you, neither are many other global cities on the planet.
TF where are 3 bedroom houses £700?
Yeah keep telling yourself it’s just 10 minutes mate 😂
The only time I’ve ever seen a Londoner say this is in a meme such as this one made by someone who doesn’t live in London. Very weird.
Londoners don’t try to convince anyone anything btw, it’s all projection from out of towners and country bumpkins who are for some reason unnecessarily desperate to justify where they live, and instead of talking up their area they’d rather shit on people who happen to live in the capital city.
We don’t want to live in Barnsley mate. Thanks for the care
If your area has 3-bedroom houses for £700pcm you aren’t having the last laugh.
