Not normal, but sadly it doesn’t feel that abnormal nowadays either.
It’s the new normal. At least until the Atlantic circulation stops and we plunge to Siberian levels of cold.
It is extremely dissapointing and I believe climate change will make black christmasses more common. I found this image that shows its not that rare in the south but still.
Depressing. Of course USA is getting a proper winter, the country that is partly thank for the warm climate
Please remember that climate change is just a hoax by the liberals and the Chinese. /s
I dont have windy premium, but 8 day ahead prediction ain’t exactly the reliable ones. Atm every other weather service is predicting 3-4 in Jyväskylä for example, 9 is insanely different.
Average daily high temperature for 16th of December in this latest 1991–2020 climatological period. We have previously had 11,3 degrees Celsius on 20th of December (2015) and 10,9 degrees even in January on January the 6th (1973)… There are still sea patches warmer than 8 degrees near the Saaremaa and the prevailing wind blows from the open sea. Winter is not coming to town.
Im gonna be really depressed if we wont have any snow here at christmas
The thing with climate change is, that it was probably going to get warmer like this anyway, it’s just the speed at which the planet has got hotter that’s the problem.
The temperature is abnormal, but the weather in general is not that odd.
It’s a forecast 8 days from now, so it can still change by quite a lot. I’ll remain skeptical
You know polar vortex is in the big reason. Currently cold in usa/ russia but warm in finland because how the winds blow
It is crazy. The most annoying part is this constant rain though. Rain every single day it seems.
You cannot make any assumptions based on one specific days temperature and especially when you use data from weather FORECAST thats more than a week away. You have compare weather trends to make any real comparison. I could go and find days that have been colder this year than in history to make the opposite claim.
I’m gonna go with the most unpopular opinion ever, but I like this. I wouldn’t mind if it never snowed in Helsinki.
Came back from Lapland, Inari. Enjoyed 5 cm of snow…
Can’t wait for Christmas? It’s only December 8th where I live
I actually don’t mind this as I hate the cold and snow. I live in the East though so 😅
Winter 2019-2020 was like this at least in Helsinki. Highest recorded snowfall that winter was 3 cm. There was like no snow at all. It sucked balls. Everything was grey and depressing. And then Covid happened.
Obviously adding more taxes locally didn’t solve the root cause for warming winters. I believe that the tax money collected was handed out by socialists and effectively used to produce more co2 emissions.
It’s 8°C here in Gothenburg right now…
I really feel like 5°C ±5 is the misery temperature, I’d rather have -10°C ±5 because then you’ll be dry.
What you gotta realise about the modern Finnish climate is that it has two modes:

What you gotta realise about the modern Finnish climate is that it has two modes:
>I wish it was warmer (Spring to Summer)
>I wish it was colder (Fall to Winter)
Looking at forecasts 8 days out is silly.
