ATASCADERO — Downtown Atascadero is gearing up for one of its most anticipated holiday traditions as Winter Wonderland returns on Friday, Dec. 12, from 5 to 9 p.m. Bringing more than 70 tons of snow to the annual event promises an evening of festive fun for families, visitors, and holiday enthusiasts alike.
Sunken Gardens and the surrounding downtown streets will transform into a winter playground, complete with a major snow pile and a massive snow slide constructed by the Kiwanis Club of Atascadero, Cuesta Springs Ice Company, and Atascadero Hay & Feed. Additional snow-themed attractions include Joe’s Little Train, obstacle courses, gladiator joust, bounce houses, and a bungy jump provided by Bubble Fun 101. Guests can also expect appearances from the California Mid-State Fair Queen’s Court, along with Santa and his cheerful team of elves.
Visitors looking to tackle holiday shopping will find plenty of options, with downtown businesses open and more than 50 craft and food vendors lining the streets. Historic City Hall will host a full evening of musical entertainment, featuring performances from local schools and dance groups:
