  1. Seems Ukraine’s plan for Pokrovsk is actually working. Its not ideal, its messy…. but it is tying up the Rus. Hordes quite well. Considering Pokrovsk traditionally has about the population of Bellingham Washington – if and when the Rus finally take Pokrovsk, that victory will be entirely Pyrrhic, and no reserves for further attempts at another offensive

  2. Seems like they actually got the attrition part of verdun here. If they bleed Russia white while breaking their oil production they might be able to pull off permanent stalemate lacking us help. If Europe really steps up they might actually get their stuff back.

  4. This was the point and I said it was the point. Russians can’t retreat gracefully, they only know phyrric victories, where even the taking of Ukraine would end in their own destruction.

    It’s not even clear how ‘elite’ these elite troops are meant to be, but clearly they’re being taken from elsewhere.

    Russia gives this gift to Ukraine practically every day.

  13. The word “elite” is doing ALOT of lifting here. Russia doesn’t have anything resembling elite units left. They might be better equipped but the troops coming won’t have any better survival chance than the ones already rotting in the fields around the city.
