3. It would not be unreasonable to say that Dubai basically runs on weapons grade hypocrisy, with the caveat that you don’t get caught.

4. Interesting, but it doesn’t say ***why*** she was released, only that she’s appealing the sentence.

5. The family and UK press say she is released, but Dubai has provided no public legal reason – suggesting the release happened through a quiet, discretionary, or diplomatic route rather than a normal judicial one.

   We ask people coming to our country to respect our values. Why do we feel as Brits that we have a god given right to do what the fuck we want in any country and feel entitled and above the law and customs of other countries?
   I find it very hypocritical and reminiscent of colonial eras.
   The laws are clear. Do not drink in public. Do not have sex on the beach or back of a taxi. Do not bring or use fucking drugs. You will be jailed. What is so hard to comprehend?

8. Feels like these story’s are on rinse and repeat now young pretty girl caught up with drugs in Dubai. I think you go to live out there and quite quickly realise that you need a lot of money to keep up with the brunches, pool parties, restaurants etc chasing these instagram lifestyles is only for the wealthy select few.

10. Anyone who even goes near drugs in Dubai is asking for this. They can blood test you and convict you for possession if the results come back positive.

    She is indeed very stupid. Hopefully she doesn’t get any air time off this on her return.

16. What is not clear is why she was released.

    In UK law 50g is intent to supply. She’s been caught, sent to prison and in the local law it’s life. By going there you agree to be bound by the laws. When someone is caught red handed, I don’t see the problem with a one day trial. Perhaps it would help the courts out if we did that here.

    Is it the sort of country that is so corrupt that the family can remortgage their house and get her off a life sentence for a few hundred k?

28. Look if you’re going to travel overseas to non- western countries, don’t involve yourself in crime. If you do, understand how their law enforcement works……..you have got to grease several palms with 💰 if you want them to look away. The wealth in Dubai doesn’t exactly trickle down
