On December 1, 2025, in the village of Ovidiopol in the Odesa region, there was shelling of an infrastructure facility at a non-operational oil depot, which caused a fire. Almost 20 tonnes of pollutants were released into the atmosphere, of which 17.4 tonnes were carbon dioxide (CO₂).
The fire occurred on a section of the oil depot covering about 220 square meters. After the blaze, air pollution was recorded, and the incident was entered into the unified register of environmental crimes.
The fire was brought under control by firefighters; there were no fatalities or injuries.
Night Attack on the Odesa Region: What Is Known
The air-raid alert lasted from 04:05 to 05:11. Drones moving from the Black Sea approached the region, including Ovidiopol.
As a result of the strikes, two buildings caught fire; the fire was extinguished. No deaths or injuries were recorded.
