We learned nothing. I’ve been in London all this week for work and there are loads of people in the office coughing up a lung and sniffling who should be nowhere near other people.
Glad I’ll be heading home tomorrow.
I had to travel with a cold the other day and the looks I got while wearing a mask were bizarre. I just tried to limit the spread as best I could, sorry!
It’s 2025 and people here still need to be told this, fucking wild man. People in places like Japan must think we’re weird for being so averse to masks when ill.
I made a post the other day about how people were coughing all over the pastries in the M&S bakery section. Zero common sense.
Crazy people don’t just stay home if they aren’t well. We’ve had people in the office the last 4/5 weeks coughing, sneezing and spluttering like crazy. It doesn’t show commitment it shows stupidity when we can work from home
No one’s gonna do this, my boss has been ill for a couple weeks and he’s dismissed my concerns about him getting other people ill twice already. Nobody learned anything from covid apparently
Yes. We should really normalise this.
Big bag of masks after you’ve gone through the gate.
People will or they won’t
How is it news that some people catch flu in a city of 9 millionÂ
I really don’t understand why this is such an ask. Not just in London, but across public transport for the whole UK. Even if it’s just during the winter months, it’s something that’s done without a thought in other countries
I went to pick up a covid test few weeks ago whilst I had a flu. I wore a mask to the pharmacy and the cashier thanked me for being considerate and said that people rarely wear them when buying covid tests… To me it feels like such a faux pas that it didn’t even occur to me…
Same with people in my team in the office, I am having to tell people to just work from home if they don’t feel well – I trust them to get on with work… If you don’t get on, take a sick day… Its not rocket science to not spread your germs everywhere… Appreciate we are mostly all vaccinated, but come on…being sick fucking sucks.
Was about to walk into a cafe yesterday at the same time as somebody was exiting. She literally stopped in the doorway and held it open for me and then open mouth coughed on my face like a three year old. I couldn’t believe it. Why are people so disgusting?
Get a damned flu jab. Flu is *not* akin to a ‘bad cold’, it’s absolutely, utterly, bleedin’ awful.
Wild that this is considered controversial advice.
I started wearing my mask when on the bus 3 weeks ago.
And I’m not unwell.
Why not “Stay at home if you’re unwell”?
Along with people still coughing into their hands (opposed to sleeve). Then sometimes even touching the tube rails. It’s 2025 and people still do this.
Normal in East Asia to wear a mask. Thought it would catch on here after covid but it didnt
I guess nobody wants to be the first to start the trend
Those selfish anti-mask pricks really rile me up.
Their selfishness just astounds me. Entitlement I’m just not used to. Worse than the idiots who watch reels without headphones with the sound on.
I’ve been doing this and when I get bad looks I try to ignore it.
It’s frustrating having to resist, taking the mask off, blowing my nose and coughing with eye contact of the complainers. But, I worry about the normal people around us 😂
The government doesn’t help this. In the civil service they are so obsessed with meeting office attendance targets that people are forced to come in and spread illnessÂ
Didn’t we use to laugh at China for doing this
Funny how the world works
‘I’m not contagious’ – contagious people.
I was on chemo during Covid so I was masked up. As were my kids when we were on the tube. I cannot even be bothered to list the amount of times I was abused, laughed at, told I was ‘scaring people’ and even verbally attacked. One man stopped us on the street to shout at me and accuse me of child abuse. One guy on the tube was pointing and laughing, calling me an idiot bc I didn’t know ‘Covid was over’. I wonder if we are selfish, ignorant about public health issues or if people are scared to wear masks.
