CHICAGO (WLS) — Governor JB Pritzker is expected to sign a bill to create more protections for immigrants in Illinois on Tuesday.

The signing will be Chicago’s La Villita Community Church at 2300 S Millard Street.

Details were limited from the governor’s office, however, the protection will be against, what the governor’s office calls “unfair federal action.”

The new bill comes as federal immigration enforcement continues throughout the state.

The event is expected to begin at 9:30 a.m.
