  1. Germany really said “climate change is bad” and then speedran making it worse.

  2. Nucular is clean, but the crappy TikTok edits need the Köln cathedral to be black and dirty.

  3. Lord provideth us with our weekly Exit-from-nuclear post (its only been going on for 3 years)

  4. And where are we going to keep all that nuclear waste? Bury it so a next generation can accidentally find it.

There’s enough energy in sun, water and air

  5. its clean yes, but so are photovoltaik and wind turbines. coal is bad

  6. Hans did at least change his stance of actively torpedoing nuclear energy at the EU level by refusing to allow it to be considered a green technology this year. However I totally understand how frustrating it is to have brain dead neighbours Pierre.

  7. Strange, I’ve only sparsely seen germans on this sub complaining about France using nuclear power. There are much more French people here angry at us not using nuclear power

Also: OP when he posts something about germans and nuclear energy on this sub, turns on reddit notifications and sticks his phone up his ass: 😎

  8. Germany purchasing grid energy from France which was procured from Nuclear will never not be funny.

  9. > Smartest Merkel’s policy

As if it was the only worst one

  10. Hans quitting nuclear power was Germany’s Brexit level of stupidity. Nuclexit, if you like.

    Time to reverse both

  11. we will be powered by pure renewables by half of the century, without having to deal with tons of toxic waste. France not lol

We don‘t talk about those, though.

  13. It’s a bit late for building nuclear now. The trouble with nuclear is it only really works if it’s supplying the majority of your power.

You can’t just turn on a nuclear power plant when you need it, or turn it off when you don’t. If you’re aiming to have most of your power supplied by renewables, you can’t use nuclear to cover the gaps in supply, it can’t react quickly enough.

In future battery tech will cover the gaps but, for now, gas is the cleanest fuel that can be turned on and off quickly enough.

At least, so I understand from my Mrs. She works for British Gas. The UK’s main problem at the moment is we don’t have the grid capacity (underfunded for years, surprise, surprise) to add new power without switching something else off first.

So, basically, both France and Germany are correct, but in different decades. France was correct twenty years ago, Germany will be correct in about a decade and the UK is mostly correct right now, but can’t do much about it.

  14. And guess who made Russia insanely rich with gas money.

    Hint: wasn’t france.

  15. It’s over Germany! You have been drawn as the soyjack!

  16. I still can’t fathom why our gracious overlords decided to shut down the nuclear powerplants before shutting down Coal or Gas. The only way i can see how they decide this course of action is corruption and considering the parties that decided this it doesn’t even suprise me.

  17. I did not count but it’s incredible how 75% of the comment are from german X)
The level of rage baiting is through the roof with this one.

  18. If France’s power stations aren’t shut down due to jellyfish that is
