It appears we can't add a picture in a reply here so forgive me for starting a new thread but I wanted to thank everyone for the help you gave me. The Kiwi I went to didn't have a great selection but I was able to get these.
And yes, I know what Gamalost is but my mom's family is from Vik so I feel obligated to buy it when I'm here.

Brilliant selection. Now you need a vaffeljern.
Good luck with the gammalost!
If you combine it well it can be an absolute treat. Think sweet jams and salty butter, or maybe golden syrup.
You might be in for a surprise with gammalost. As a foreigner, it has not become my favourite yet…
You should try frying gammalost and serving it with raspberries or raspberry jam 💜
Find the odd one out 🏅
You have already gotten good advice on the gammalost, but since no-one has mentioned just eating it on freshly baked good bread with three times as much salted butter as cheese, there you are. It’s a savory treat when served right.
Gammelost is not brown cheese but the rest is lol persenaly I do eat gammelost when offerd and do enjoy it but it is rare cheese as it is not made in as massive amount and there are strickt rules were it is made ect,as for the juleost YACK rest are yammi
The Gamalost should be eaten on bread with lots of butter and salt, or on bread with syrup. At least that’s how my grandpa ate it. Personally, I can’t stand it – it’s stinky and foul 🙂
And as a nosy local – unless it’ll dox you – where are your family from in Vik?
Husmann knekkebrød + butter + geitost, my preferred kombo.
I’ll issue a warning for the gamalost.
Fløtemysost is my favorite.
Made a lasagna with a gammalost cheese sauce. Was very well received😋
Missing “Innherred” – that’s the best by far.
Toasted bread with butter and brunost. 😊
I love that stuff. Can’t find in Ireland … if any Vikings are coming here for a holiday, I’d gladly buy from you
My mom’s family is also from Vik! Never been a fan of Gamalost though hahah
Enjoy your oster! ❤️
Very good choices 😁!
The classic gold standard taste, the darker powerful taste, the milder rounder taste, the seasonal taste and the specially acquired taste.
Would highly recommend trying them on warm freshly baked bread with butter or alternatively take it on a slice of bread in the microwave for just a few seconds.
