The King is to deliver a personal message to the nation about his cancer.

He has recorded a television broadcast from the Morning Room at Clarence House about his “recovery journey”, alongside a plea for early cancer screening.

The video message, filmed at the end of November, will be aired on Channel 4 at 8pm on Friday as part of Stand Up To Cancer 2025, a joint campaign with Cancer Research UK.

The King was expected to stress the importance of cancer screening programmes in enabling early diagnosis and reflect on his own recovery journey, Buckingham Palace said.

  1. So, I think this is very important. He has access to private doctors in England.

I also have very close friends in the England proper who are dismissed by doctors and when they see a specialist after waiting 6-9 months, they are inadequate and not actually addressing issues. Yeah, it’s free healthcare , but I have a very close friend who is suffering who has been demoralized by the NHS. She can’t get adequate screening for her very real problems.

He needs to put pressure on whomever can fix the NHS. I’m very deeply upset about the care many of my friends receive.

  2. I appreciate he’s at least using his platform to promote early detection and screening.

  3. Early detection and screening is possible if you have access to good healthcare.

  4. I wonder if he plans to announce he and William will stop charging the NHS rent to operate on their land. Allow more money to go towards actual healthcare.
