Another lazy Sunday is upon us, so what are your schemes and plans? We'd like to know what you'll be doing, whether it's wrapping presents, putting more baubles on the tree, or starting on those chocolates you swore you wouldn't open until the 25th. Come in and chat with us!

Heading to the pub for 8.30. Pint(s), breakfast and then the match (will have more drinks after to celebrate / commiserate)
It started well when I realised it was Sunday and not the Monday my brain first told me. I’ve got a few things to sort out first before I get to the good stuff though.
First off I need to go and check on my old dad. Creeping dementia is horrible curse but he’s ok for now.
Then it’s off to go and find a decent pork loin joint to put in the freezer for Xmas. Had a look around yesterday but quality was crap. 50% of each joint was fat. Need a better meat to fat ratio.
After that I get to the good stuff. Bangers and mash for dinner. Undecided on garden or mushy peas yet. Instinct and tradition says mushy but my mrs insists I have ‘proper’ veg. How that stacks against 3 Cumberland sausages, she is unclear on.
The rest of the day will be a food coma with a crappy film I can sleep through, followed by snacks and a pint while watching season 2 of ‘Silo’
Overtime at work, really not wanting to be here but also enjoying the enforced quiet time. I’m just about to have some chocolate orange porridge like the grown up I am.
Days off from tomorrow, and hopefully I’ll have some news about my car.
I’ve got to pop and get some dog food when I leave work, I’m not looking forward to hobbling into town and back but needs must. Then it’s a taxi home to be stranded again.
To be honest I’m not that bothered about the stranded part, it’s just a shame my dog has to suffer as the only walks near us I have to drive to – there are no paths where I live and we’d both be road jam if I tried to walk anywhere.
I’m currently flip flopping over going to the dog friendly screening of a muppet Christmas carol at our local picturehouse. I actually haven’t seen the film, so part of me thinks I should, and it will help socialise the dog. The other part of me, however, wants to do fuck all today.
Currently in A&E with little one
Going to the cinema this morning to see Zootopia 2 with my wife which will be nice. She’s performing at a Carol concert this evening and then I’m going out with some mates for a curry.
I am going to work 8am-7pm.Â
Woke up early to a very under the weather dog, currently trying to convince him that having a nice lie down would be a good idea, rather than demanding to sit in my lap like he did when he was a puppy (he is 30kg… he doesn’t see why this should matter).
Off to see a recording of the musical Merrily We Roll Along this afternoon at the cinema!
Didn’t realise when I booked it that it’s the Tyne & Wear Derby so town will be manic.
We’re recovering from the boys 6th birthday party yesterday! It was a fantastic day but I’m wiped out today!
I mean we were still up playing with a pirate treasure dig set at 6am 🤣 But now we’re watching a film with toast.
Seeing some friends later this morning, dropping my sil’s birthday cards off this afternoon (and hopefully getting to fuss their new dog!) and doing some housework in between Playmobil and telly.
We are meeting some friends for a dog walk, their dog is currently going through some behavioural challenges and they want to see if she reacts to our dog badly or not (they have met before multiple times and our dog will love anyone!)
Turn the slow cooker on before we go, we’ve done the start of a rib ragu using some bbq ribs we found lurking in the freezer, will add some pasta towards the end.
Hopefully get back in time from said walk to watch the not-so-mighty Hammers lose again.
Then steel myself for the last 3 days of work for this year (we finish on the 23rd, but I’ve used my remaining annual leave!) 🥳
My kid has suspected chicken pox. So been up all night. Hopefully get some kip later.
Been for a walk to see my “not my cat” cats. Sadly we only saw one but he was very affectionate. This guy varies in mood, usually he wakes up and chooses violence but can be sweet as well. Maybe this morning he woke up, chose violence and got that out of his system before greeting us.
Going for a swim in a bit, then back home to do some baking/cleaning before taking my daughter to the pantomime this afternoon.
Then I’ll probably scan Facebook later to see if anyone else is getting rid of a surplus of the Morrisons Disney Trading Cards as my daughter only has two cards left to get and they appear to be rather elusive, which is irritating.
Off to Makro to get some bulk items for mum when I go up for Christmas next week. After that, doing a rotisserie chicken and trying out that lego potatoes thing I saw online.
In between – getting more services set up on home assistant on my new pi.
A lazy morning trying to keep warm while it’s frosty outside, followed by a big fat roast chicken dinner that I’ll prep later on. Also, dog sitting my neighbours black lab this afternoon / evening til tonight and trying not to think too much about my brothers cremation later today. He stipulated no service etc. it’ll be difficult.
Just getting ready to drive up to Beverley for the Christmas market. Its taken me longer than usual to get into the Christmas spirit this year, but I’m finally in full on festive mode
Got up late today (usually we’re all up and about by 6:30!) kids are eating breakfast and I’m currently making them hot chocolate to go with it. No real plans today, trying to have a nice quiet weekend before the madness of the Christmas holidays. Oh and I’m making a chicken and ham pie for dinner later!
My brother is 40 today so we’re going for a big family meal. I found out yesterday that one of my oldest friends died last week so I’m really struggling. I spent most of yesterday crying and couldn’t sleep.
I just woke up to the most beautiful sunrise!
I started decorating for Christmas yesterday, but mostly by cleaning my house and fixing the little things that needed doing these last few months. I think today will be more of the same, ut I’m still not sure if I’m ready to get my tree.
I’m catching up with a friend who I’ve not seen in ages later. He doesn’t drink tea or coffee so I might make some cake just so we have something nice to snack over.
Yesterday, unbeknownst to me, for some reason my husband decided it’d be fun to wear his Cartier wedding ring on a different finger and left it there a long time. This caused the ring to get stuck and we had to call the fire service to come over at 4am to have it cut off.
Less than amused am I.
Smoke some weed, play some Xbox
Kids are pissed off because their elf did not bring them curly wurlies in their advent calendar as requested, he brought them santas finest curly wurlies (sheep fleece posing as santas beard trimmings) and a gold coin each. Of course it’s my fault (it really it is, I am the elf) because I suggested the elf might think curly wurlies are something else.
They’ve threatened to “bop him on the nose” and report him to Santa. I think the elf is about to crack under the Christmas pressures and go rogue.

sunrise today! my dog is going to meet santapaws today! (aka her trainer 😆) who’s doing a party day for everyone!
Just got back from a 10k. My back was killing me on Friday so I’m surprised I was able to recover enough to squeeze one of these out.
Bit pissed off because I ran down a very steep hill as part of my route then realised the cycle path was flooded so had to run back up it again.
In your face, Grand Old Duke Of York.
Gonna be a house cleaning kind of day. Wife and daughter are still in bed so imma chill out in the dark living room for a bit.
My husbands going with his local supporters club on the train to watch the Scottish Cup final in another towns pub.Im going to chill out with the dog might get some housework done ,watch TV etc.He will probably be a bit drunk when he gets home and is always apologetic even though I dont mind so he will end up ordering takeaway tonight so I won’t have to cook.So quite a lazy day for me.
Have a walk with friends this morning then hoping for gym later.
