Surrey police say a pedestrian has died after being struck by a police vehicle Sunday evening.
The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. PT at the intersection of 152 Street and 64 Avenue, according to a news release from Surrey Police Service (SPS).
The woman died at the scene despite medical attention from police, firefighters and paramedics, the release said.
The Independent Investigations Office (IIO), B.C.’s police watchdog, has been called in.
The IIO is a civilian-led agency that investigates incidents of death or serious harm that may have involved police.
