They did that in my town when they were renovating the area that had lots of benches. When they were done they put the little signs back. A really nice touch.
My gran’s always hated memorial benches, none of us have ever really worked out why, but when she goes we’re getting her one that says “In memory of [Gran], who hated memorial benches”

My parents decided to tell me my mum had cancer by walking round the local park and reading out the names on all the benches. I do laugh about them doing that in retrospect though.
Luckily she did well with treatment and has been clear for over 15 years so far.
Feels like it could be a Dr Who plot.
He is not a serial killer, just so misunderstood as a kid.
