The Federation of Trade Unions of Education and Science Workers of Moldova announced a general protest for December 16 demanding higher wages, APA reports.
“The teaching community demands the allocation of financial resources to prevent the widening gap between average salaries in education and science and the average wage in the economy as a whole,” reads a statement posted on the federation’s Facebook page (banned in Russia; owned by the Meta corporation, which is considered extremist in Russia). Federation members from across the country will participate in the protest. By 12:30 PM Moscow time, teachers will hold up a blank sheet of paper and read aloud the constitutional article on labor rights and fair compensation.
