Kremlin Denies New Ukraine Drone Just Blew Up Russian Missile Sub Tied Up at Pier. A fresh Kremlin narrative that a Ukrainian underwater kamikaze boat attack targeting Russian missile submarine tied up in a naval port caused no damage doesn’t much hold water, evidence shows.

  1. No, no, no, comrade! It’s the submarine that crashed into the Ukrainian kamikaze drone!

  2. The Kremlin narrative doesn’t hold much water, but the sub now does…

  3. The ‘Russkiy mir’ where the truth is invariably the opposite of the truth! Russia lies about EVERYTHING. No drone has ever hit a Russian target, just that damned drone debris falling out of the sky! Russia even denied the Chernobyl disaster for days, until a radioactive cloud was covering Europe and even Russia could not deny it any longer…

  4. We successfully blocked a Ukrainian drone’s path with a submarine. The pier was not damaged during the interception maneuver.

  5. Not a single warship or submarine of the Black Sea Fleet (BSF) based in Novorossiysk Bay suffered damage, and (all) are conducting normal operations.”

I dont doubt the second part of this statement. Afterall, sitting in pier slowly rusting away has been part of normal operations in the russian navy for decades. Just like catching fire in drydock

  6. “Submarine was made with new material, Putinium. Is totally impervious to any Ukrainian explosives!” – Russian spokesperson, probably.

  7. Yeah but that sub is holding an awful lot of water where it sank in that port!

  8. They’re publicly lying to themselves. All these years and they still dont care or see that the world doesn’t believe or trust them. Enjoy your new coral reef.

  9. The size of that explosion would tend to suggest that the sub now has a big hole in it.

Depending on the number of watertight compartments in the sub it might not have sunk, but it’s certainly fucked. You could weld a metal plate over the hole so that it floats and submerges, but the chances of it surfacing again from a dive of any depth appear to be quite low.

  10. Without a doubt it’s damaged though the original claim that it was destroyed remains to be seen. The fact there is satellite photos of it and they haven’t released them leads me to believe it’s still floating.

  11. I don’t know, that sub is holding quite a bit of water!

  12. Kremlin: “Nothing that can’t be fixed with a little duct tape!”

  13. I’m hoping ISW’s assessment is right in that there is significant damage to the sub, but that seems to kinda notable since they’re generally more meticulous in arriving at their assertions.

I’d think a relatively probable hopeful outcome was that the sub took a “mobility kill” since it doesn’t seem that it was sunk but a direct contact at the propeller or very close would cause major damage to at minimum render the sub an immobile Kalibr platform if it’s still functional.

One other obvious important fact is that the Ukrainians have some submersible drone with a likely range of ~350 nautical miles (~650 km).

  14. The submarine however on the other hand is now holding a lot of water!💦
