A reformulation of the Bank of Italy's gold amendment has been presented.

In the reformulation of the Bank of Italy’s gold amendment, “which I presented on behalf of the government, we believe the matter can be considered closed.” This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, at the end of the Senate Bureau meeting, reiterating that “we’re fine” regarding the gold reserves issue. “I wanted to clarify the gold issue to Parliament, rightly so, because they’ve only read about it in the newspapers, so I thought it was appropriate to do so, and to explain the government amendment that will arrive this afternoon, which, since it’s important, will take a little more time,” the Minister of Economy and Finance concluded.

The timing “will be decided by the commission presidency, the government amendment regarding the Zes and Transition 5.0 arrives this afternoon,” the minister said, underlining that “we have had significant questions, beyond expectations, regarding the Zes and Transition 5.0, which we believe are at least reasonably covered.”
