I forsee lots of games of Mario kart coming up for me over Christmas and I am not ready for it. It's a great game but my god it's so stressful sometimes.

  1. last night I had a dream about waves of fast zombies chasing me
so I’m currently installing Days Gone since I never finished it

and been playing through some GTA
recently finished 3 and Liberty City Stories (PS2 version), just started Vice City but need a bit of a break from the grand theft auto world

  2. Still playing the Original Diablo running on a Windows XP VM inside VirtualBox. Forgotten how mood the graphics, sound and music makes it. It is more fun to play than Diablo 3.

Should play Torch Light 2 just for some great fun.

  3. Warframe has a new update. Also really enjoying tainted grail.

  4. I’ve been playing ‘The Finals’. I wish I played this sooner. If you like your multiplayer shooters give it a go if you haven’t. It has the smoothness of CoD’s gunplay, but with a lot of fresh ideas. It’s really good fun.

  5. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden on Gamepass. Enjoying it, good story

  6. Bouncing between BG3, Minecraft and Timberborn at the moment.

  7. Picked up Expedition 33 again to give the new DLC a bash. Pleasingly, I’m much further along in my NG+ save than I thought so should be able to dive into it fairly soon.

Unpleasingly, I have completely lost the nack of the parry timing.

  8. I think you’ll have better luck on Mario kart if you stopped using the keyboard

  9. Discovered a cool little game called “Slots and Daggers” on Steam where you play a little tabletop machine that works as an adventure game screen and a slot machine all at once. Almost like what a medieval arcade machine would look like, I suppose!

The ambience is you are sat in a tavern playing this game while you hear cool music and low cosy/busy “people” sounds around you. The game is simple, you choose three things for the slot machine (usually a type of weapon that does X damage) and coin, and a shield.

Each fight you take turns against a monster and you spin the slot machine. You land on a combo of what you chose and that determines if you do damage on a monster, gain coin, or gain armour for example – if you get three matches then you do critical damage, gain a LOT of coin, or become a walking shield – depending on what the symbol is.

As the game progresses the enemies get harder, but you get access to a shop that allows you to upgrade your slot rolls, find better things for the machine, special powers you can activate for the cost of coin mid-encounter, or remove some from your machine to change the odds of the machine.

At the end of each run when you die, you unlock a lot of cool new things for your starting slot machine next run. You can also start a new game “further into the story” with the trade off being your starter items are better but it’s a harder difficulty almost immediately.

I put in two hours the other day and am hooked. It’s a cool little game and easy to jump in and out of.

  10. Completed Metroid Prime 4. It’s not my favourite in the series but not the total disaster I’ve seen it made out to be in some circles. Enjoyed my time with it, even if some design choices didn’t sit well with me.

Now currently playing Tomb Raider 2 from the remastered collection. Completed the first game earlier this year and really enjoyed it, but the shift away from tombs and animal enemies is throwing me off a bit. Hopefully it gets back to that in the later stages.

  11. I’m totally hooked on **Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden**. It’s a fantastic game. The combat is still a bit clunky but enjoyable enough. It’s everything else that’s superb – story, characters, atmosphere, all of it is put together so well. My only real gripe is there are nowhere near enough fast travel points so a lot of running around is being done. Still. It’s a beautiful world in which to do that so…

  12. Boight the pokemon ZA DLC the day it came out. Still not had a chance to play it.

  13. Booted up Fallout 4 on my new PC over the weekend. Easily my most favourite game of all time.

Looking forward to Atomfall when I eventually pick that up.

  14. Hopefully play a bit more **Cyberpunk 2077** tonight, starting Act 2. Is it me, or is the pacing a little bit slow? There doesn’t feel like there’s been lots of action up until now.

  15. Fable ii on the xbox 360. I feel its appeal lies in the levelling up systems, but so far it seems like a good game.

  16. Flicking between a second play through of Expedition 33, slowly working toward 100% on Metroid Prime 4 before tackling the final boss and gradually earning extra heat in Hades.

  17. As I did *oh so well* in coping with **Alien: Isolation** over the past years, I cleverly thought I’d give **ROUTINE** a go as it was on Game Pass.

So anyway, as such I’ve actually mostly been playing **Captain of Industry**

  18. Got back into RuneScape a while ago and chipping away at that.

Spent ages on the school computers back in the days as an idiotic child so actually digging into it, it’s just a fun chill game.

Also dabbling in Xenoblade 2 and cyberpunk but probably gonna drop cyberpunk as it’s not really grabbing me.

  19. Monster Hunter Wilds with a bit of Expedition 33 grinding inbetween. I would love for any tips for Expedition 33 as I’m in act 2 now and the grind is talking a while.

  20. BF6, Roadcraft, ReStory, My Little Rocket Shop, Balatro.

BF6, despite all the complaining is solid great fun with moments of awesomeness. Does need a lot of debug/polish

Roadcraft, super chill. If mudrunner and snow runner are rectal exams then roadcraft is an afternoon tea.

Restory, beta at the moment. Run a small 2000s Japanese electronics repair shop. Chill zen game.

My little rocket shop, factorio and stardew valleys love child.

Balatro, rouge like poker game. Very good, very hard.

  21. Finished the main story of Ghost of Yotei last night. I found the whole thing very pretty but so boring. The combat didn’t feel anywhere near as fun as the first game, and for such a big world, there was only ever four different things to do (chase a fox, climb a linear path to a shrine, chop bamboo, sit in a hot spring). Each mission was exactly the same and each side mission had you fight 8-10 enemies until it was over. I’m bored of open world stuff but if the gameplay loop is satisfying enough, they can be ok, but this was just dull dull dull.

  22. I stared at my Playnite library all day yesterday, at a total loss of what to play.

So I’ve decided to give Death Stranding a go for the third time to see if it will click, after abandoning it twice over the past few years.

  23. Currently loving Outer Worlds 2, which I’m nearing the end of.

Also put a bunch of time into Death Howls. A really great deck building game that’s super tough.

  24. A couple of days ago, I recreated the 1985 F1 grid in Gran Turismo 7, complete with the liveries, driver names, and car specs. I decided I’d drive the Osella for the struggle. I spun on lap 1 because the car’s a bastard and then spent the next 70 laps pottering around at the back. Can’t wait to do another race tonight, it’s the most fun I’ve had on a game in ages

  25. I’ve been flipping between Gothic 1 and Arx Fatalis recently, I swear there hasn’t been a good RPG since the early 2000s
