  1. > Woman recognised as ‘first black Briton’ by BBC was actually white

“Stop, stop, I can only get so erect” – Telegraph editor

  2. Not sure why folk from foreign nations would be trying to set themselves up as the founders for other nations

  3. Woo hoo, science is science and changes its opinion based on new evidence

    >Recognised by… BBC

Fuck off Telegraph, and take your unscientific culture wars with you

  4. So what was the evidence she was black in the first place??

  5. “A plaque was erected to commemorate her heritage, which was later removed when a study suggested the woman was more likely to be from Cyprus, with a Mediterranean complexion”

Shame they couldn’t just update the plaque to recognise her new heritage

All heritages are equally worth celebrating

  6. Well that’s a silly article.

The first neolithic humans entered Europe several thousand years before the genes for white skin are thought to have spread.

  7. Well this seems like a valuable scientific retrospective and not at all an editorialised bent designed to inspire outrage clicks.

  8. Does anyone else not really give a shit?

Services wrecked, NHS in a perpetual crisis, police services cut, prices sky high, children going to bed hungry and cold etc…

Plenty of other things the public should be foaming at the mouth for, this is so inconsequential to modern life it’s almost laughable that people care so much.

  9. The BBC has a forensic anthropology department now? No, it doesn’t and presumably the fuckwits at the Telegraph know that.

The BBC never made the claim, Dr Caroline Wilkinson did, an actual forensic anthropologist and the BBC reported on it and used her work for the basis of the claim.

It is though hilarious to watch the right-wing press and adherents get their knickers all twisted at the mere thought of an African living in Britain, in the 2nd century BC – does the *you know what* really run that deep?

And the latest research suggests she was Cypriot.

  10. Well, this is clap trap. She was Romano British. Gene analysis of the first Mesolithic hunters in the UK after the ice age showed they had dark skin. Who cares anyway?

  11. I’m a direct descendant of cheddar man and I live five minutes from cheddar. Not very exciting my lot. He was brown skinned with blue eyes. I have blue eyes but am incredibly pale which is probably the Irish.

  12. It’s no better than the hamitic hypothesis or any other ideologically lead pseudo-science.

    Embarrassing really.

  13. That’s unlike the BBC to get their facts wrong! 🤭

  14. Oh no, scientists followed the scientific method and found some new information! Now we must find whoever was wrong and burn them at ten stake! /s

The Telegraph is just a broadsheet version of the Daily Mail…

  15. Some people just have the weirdest obsession with skin tone.

  16. Guys stop tossing each other off over rage bait, it was an error, based on contextual clues, that they have since corrected, not some woke attempt to wipe out white history

  17. Liberals everywhere falling into comas over this revelation

  18. Either way wouldn’t the “First black Briton” by one of the early humans who got here 300,000 years ago

  19. Telegraph, mail and reformers really are obsessed with skin colour aren’t they.

  20. Is this an actual piece of research or was it in the Telegraph?
