Better satellite imagery of the Kilo class (636.3) the discoloured water is most likely the bilge pump working overtime trying so suck out silt and water contaminated with hydraulic fluid, the stern is also not visible. The 2nd photo shows what part of the pier was damaged or destroyed.

  1. They could still try to use it as a stationary launch platform? 🙁

It’s easy to imagine what would’ve happened if the sub-sea-baby centered on that hull..ewwwwwie!

India ain’t leasing that shit. for sure.

  2. The discolored water suggests the bilge pump is working overtime to keep that submarine afloat. Discoloration like that isn’t normal in a harbor, standard bilge discharge is usually foamy and white. This, however, looks like silt mixed with oil being pumped out. If you look at the stern, you can see the same discoloration, suggesting an oil leak at the rear that is significant enough to show up on satellite imagery.

  3. Even if the prop shaft is bent by a couple of millimetres… it’ll make a racket underwater, leak at seals, vibrate…

I’d daresay it’s functionally inoperative and needs a dry dock. In which case it’ll get targeted like the last one…

  4. It could also be running the Diesels Kilos can snorkel through the sail or through hull exhaust

  5. It’s clear they have shown they can do this again. Wouldn’t surprise me if vessels out side of the Black Sea fleet also get struck eventually.

  6. If repaired could the hull still withstand dive pressures?
