  1. A quiet day today for me. Only one driving lesson everyone has better things to be doing at this time of the year, so although I’m happy to work, my students have other ideas.

    I’ll get this lesson done, then get home for a mince pie!

  2. Work’s Christmas party this afternoon; looks like a nice menu, looking forward to meeting the other teams again and waiting to see who takes advantage of the free bar and tries to get off with someone else.

    I think a certain team isn’t here this year so it’ll be mostly well behaved, but there’s one person that got divorced and rather likes my manager, so we’ve been winding him up all week about making space for her to move in.

  3. Teaching finished last Friday but the meetings, the CPD and the marking is wrapping up today. I have a blood test in the middle of it (I hate needles so I will stare at the floor) and then need to tidy up before heading down South on Saturday. I just want the marking to be done and the emails to stop.

  4. Last day off before Christmas for me!! Having a chill one, was meant to go drop off Christmas presents to my grandparents but I’m on the tail end of a cold so won’t be doing that. Going to spend the day wrapping presents and then I’ve picked up tickets for an ice hockey game tonight so hopefully that will be fun.

    And then just 5 days to go! Hopefully it will be busy but not in a mad way. We’ll see!

  5. First day of the holibobs today, much needed rest for two weeks now. Let the osrs questing begin and to put some series on. What should I start off with?

  7. First time in 10 Christmases and I’ve had a card from a child who doesn’t even go to the school I do crossing patrol at! She passes me most mornings in the car on the way to her school and always waves, and I wave back! I was quite touched, actually.

    And then 20 minutes later I nearly got run over by a parent of a child at my school…Merry Christmas!

  8. Last day before 2 weeks off, counting down the minutes.

  9. Last few days of work, nothing urgent to do but really mentally checked out.

    Just bought myself a bike, now to teach myself how to ride it. Do you think you I can master it within a lunch break?

    I’m a bit embarrassed about being seen in public trying when I’m pushing 30 but my garden is too small to achieve anything.

  10. Just finished a 1 and a half hour meeting and yes it’s only 9:30am. The day can only get better form here. Bring on the weekend!

  11. Booked the day off, was planning a nice, relaxing day and having a Chinese takeaway for tea. Instead I’ve been back and forth from my bed room to the toilet.

  12. Neck and shoulder hurt yesterday. I thought it’d be better today, but it’s worse.

    I wish I could turn my head.

  13. Volunteered to go on call until xmas eve so the lads travelling home can get away today. In the RAF and staying local to camp and it’s only until Wednesday anyway. Means, I save three days leave too.

    On the bright side, had yesterday afternoon off so got the last few xmas presents out the way. Now, I’ve got the task of wrapping them this weekend.

  15. Still feeling a bit bleh but I’m not sure if it’s a low level lurgy or some other stuff. Might need to have a little nap on my lunch break, although that’s a bit risky because I might sleep all afternoon 😅

    Anyway, looking forward to a chilled evening with my husband, I’d like to watch the new Knives Out film.

  17. This guy at work being strange. He asked about getting this product as we don’t have it in our warehouse. I said to ask another coworker as he was picking in another and would be able to get it. Then he said to team leader I was having a go at him by asking him to ask the other guy. Was so strange.

  19. Off now till January. Shopping needs doing but I am going to sack that off and go for a long walk with the dog as the sun is shining and it has been pissing down all week.

  21. I got a new fridge freezer this week! It’s 70/30 so I can see what’s in the fridge section on top (I’m short). I could only see the bottom shelf in the old one. I’m so excited.

  22. Got to go pick up the christmas chocolate and alcohol shop. My mum did a click and collect for hers and I for some reason had never thought of that! Genius. Saves me even going into the supermarket.

    I’m off out tonight to my neighbours house for drinks, secret Santa and a quiz. Very much looking forward to it, and bringing my christmas jumper out of the wardrobe for its annual outing.

    My mum is a teacher and finishes school today, but I don’t think she’s been working very hard all week! Secondary, so they are as excited to finish school as she is🤣

For the first time one of my children has broken up from a LTR where we knew the ex well and liked them (well, we think they have broken up, said offspring is being spectacularly vague and uncommunicative. They have no obligation to tell me anything they don’t want to and so I’m not pushing but it would be nice to know what’s happened so we can react appropriately).

    I’m strangely saddened by this so I got up at 2.30am and had a treadmill run as it was swilling through my brain.

  25. It’s my last day of work and then I don’t go back until 5th January!

    Xmas break means doing electrics in the spare room, sorting Christmas out! woop!

  26. Preparing to do that coursework today. Hopefully it goes well. I’m relieved some of the people are taking it seriously.

    Christmas ruined.

  28. Off now until January woo hoo!! Was meant to be meeting an ex colleague for xmas drinkies today but just want to relax with my dog and start getting the house ready for christmas so Ive cancelled.

    Normally I would have gone because I dont like to let people down but decided to be selfish for a change.

  29. It’s my last work day until January! It’s not going to be my most productive day because I’m just too excited to finish! Had the work Christmas dinner yesterday, which was nice and chill (although the food was a bit meh). I feel like I’m fitting in okay at this new job which is nice

  30. I’m going back to work tonight, which I’m dreading, but hey ho. I’ll need to go for a kip at some point so I haven’t bothered getting dressed. My shopping is coming later, and they’ve subbed the vegan cheese selection for a normal cheese selection so that will need to go back, but everything else is there. My flatmate ordered an Asda shop to come tomorrow and about half of it is unavailable already, so there will be even more missing when they actually pick it, so he’s cancelled the order. Bah.

  31. Last day for french kids here who have never watched The Simpsons. Blasting them with Season 7 episode Lisa the Iconoclast and talking about Columbus day, statues etc. Very lucky boy I am.

  32. Working until Christmas Eve, managed to make it so I’m working at home though so it’ll just be the odd wiggle of a mouse.

    Start a new budget in January too that hopefully helps me get some financial security in my life!

    Oh, and have a good Christmas.

  33. I’ve got to work on Monday and Tuesday, with my 6yo at home so good luck to me.

    It’s chaos here, we had flu at the start of December at the same time as we had new carpets going in upstairs. Finally finished putting all the furniture back last night and now need to have a major tidy up. This weekend it’s also wrapping, seeing the father-in-law (as won’t see him on Christmas), last minute shopping and wrapping, haircut for me. At least I’m off work between Christmas Eve and New Year!!

  34. I’m only having the holiday days off, but the rest will be pretty chilled especially between Xmas and New year.

    Tonight I’ve got two kids to look after as my wife and the ladies go out for a boogie bingo, about 15 of them I think.

    Tomorrow me and a few men are out for lunchtime food and drinks in Leeds and then back for football and boxing. Really looking forward to it!
