True for me but I don’t think I live alone in Luxembourg
Depends where the survey is taken. In the south, I’m sure this is accurate. Anywhere north of the city, butter will be king.
Not accurate. In croatia mostly used is olive oil and sunflower oil. Then its pig fat ( lard ) and 4th place would be butter. Who ever is author of this map never been to Croatia. Total joke.
Portuguese and Italian immigrants
Just use both.
They serve different purposes in my mind. But olive oil by far
We are a mediteranean country
You have too much free time?
Obviously, both.
Olive Oil is for making salad. Change my mind.
It’s the Italians living here throwing olive oil in and on everything. Because that’s how they made it 2000 years ago and because anything different (even if better) is just “no no no!”.
Butter is for baking and desserts. Olive oil or sunflower for cooking and salads.
BTW, France is divided between north and south. In the north they cook with butter, in the SW where I lived for 14 years and in the SE it is definitely olive oil.
In Central America, definitely oil.

Well, the best chefs in the world know how to use both to cook meat. BTW Spanish gastronomy is overrated.
BothÂ
Both and also sunflower oil for some things like salad dressing to avoid having the olive oil taste in some cases.
