The local authority said it has been “asked to consider” four flats in the area which can be for families, such as an adult and child or couple and child.
Clear Springs Ready Homes, a private contractor which provides asylum accommodation in Wales, will work with a private landlord to “refurbish and bring these properties into use”.
Conwy Council said this will be “at no cost to the council” and that these homes were not on Mostyn Street or within the town’s designated ‘holiday zone’.
The council added that it would “never disclose the exact location of proposed placements” because of “legitimate concerns about the safety of families”.
A council spokesperson told the Pioneer: “Conwy County Borough Council has recently been asked to consider four flats in the Llandudno area for families (an adult and child or a couple and child).
“The UK Government Policy of full dispersal means that every council across the UK is expected to work with the Home Office to find accommodation for asylum seekers.
“These are not social homes or homes funded through our affordable housing programme.Â
