Durham Regional Police say a man has been hospitalized following a shooting in Oshawa sometime overnight.
Officers were called to the area of Simcoe Street North and Bond Street East after receiving a report of an armed person.
Police say one male victim was located and transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre. His condition has not been released.
Simcoe Street was closed in the area as investigators worked the scene. Police say there is a large police presence and the investigation remains ongoing.
