It’s true, you know

  1. At the risk of taking this too seriously: I’m not sure I agree.

The institutions (and the media) in the UK have always done a hell of a better job at getting big, important stories out there than those of across the pond.

  2. Well one member of the British elite has been cast from public life and is now a figure of ridicule and hate.

In the US, Trump is still president and seemingly untouchable.

  3. You mean the Sun and the Mail AREN’T currently on the most ruthless hateful campaign they could be?

  4. Immigration would be blamed. Timmy Robson and the flag brigade would be smashing up the gaff then going for a curry

  5. and then it would be leaked when someone left it behind on a bus

  6. Also why we don’t wear hats indoors, aren’t attracted to our cousins, don’t worry about the police man pulling us over getting all trigger happy, and we usually have someone in the room that actually knows what they’re doing.

  7. Well objectively its not, if there’s one thing we all collectively hate its a nonce. He’d have been out of a job **long** ago. The US is fubar.

  8. I disagree.
The establishment would try and cover it up but journalists in the UK generally do a good job at exposing stuff.
Even the Scum has had its moments.

  9. Feel like it’d be more likely found on the seat of a train or in a public bin

  10. This is…. Not true. What rationale is there for this opinion? The last year has very well shown that our system works better.

Imagine, we had someone not pay enough tax and they referred themselves to an independent panel and resigned off the back of the finding.

American corruption, bribery etc is more rampant than I’ve ever seen from a ‘western’ country. Totally above board, and celebrated. It’s a deeply unserious place.

  11. Hard to say. We did have fairly quick enquiries into the COVID parties and loans, which didn’t react much of the findings – it’s just there were not really any repurcussions for those involved.

  12. When are the Sun and Mail *not* in a ruthless hate campaign?

  13. “Euthanised by MI5” is the one I don’t agree with…

  14. The biggest obstacle we have to genuine freedom here is that the courts are in cahoots with government where they are supposed to be a check against their abuses.

  15. You mean like the WhatsApp messages boris hid due to “national security” regarding covid and what he was saying behind the scenes?

Or the unnatural sexual proclivities files hidden by thatcher in the 1980’s for “national security”

I can give you a list but I think we should stop pointing at others right now, as a distraction and focus on the pedophile running American

  16. Anyone still mourning David Bowie? He admitted to and boasted about sleeping with 15 year old girls.

That’s how Britain handles this shit and don’t kid on we don’t.

Half a dozen football clubs have been caught covering up child abuse at their youth teams. One club in particular looks like it had been running and covering up a 4 decade long child abuse ring. Kept firing then re hiring coaches they knew were RAPING little boys.

Crickets, that’s what they victims got and are still getting.

  17. No, The Sun and the Mail would have been doing their own redacting.

  18. Bit of a sidestep from the fact that it’s not Britain dealing with it though, isn’t it?

America has the limelight now, not Britain.

  19. I feel like In the Name of the Father should be shown in schools so people know how corrupt this country is.

  20. Section 2 of the Official Secrets Act, don’t talk about section 2 of the Official Secrets Act.

  21. Right, like how Partygate never saw the light of day.

Oh it totally did and it brought down Boris’ government? Right. Huh.

This is just doomer anti-British slop. The account poster is a populist spammer and posts antisemitic conspiracy theories for extra spinkles of fun.

  22. I hope in the UK we would have prosecuted the guilty and held them to account for their crimes. We are not as corrupt in the UK as this attempts to imply- and there is lots of evidence to show that those guilty are held to account. Epstein fed the desires of the rich and famous. Andrew’s not been to Court- but he’s paid a price. Has Trump?

  23. Definitely, that’s why operation Yewtree never happened and noone was arrested.

  24. Or the Tory cabinet would all accidentally delete their WhatsApp messages from the COVID period just before a public enquiry

  25. Just look at the whole Birmingham Six, Guildford Four and of course Hillsborough disaster to see how things would have gone in Britain

  26. Be released under the official secrets act in 30 years time

  27. Absolutely not true at all. The UK love to fuck ourselves over we are probably the only country that would release the whole thing even to our detriment.

  28. You joke but under the tories a mysterious fire engulfed an parliamentary archive with historic child sex abuse claims that were due to be reexamined.
