  1. Sounds like Nazi Germany.

Protesting for peace leads you to prison or to the meat grinder on the front.

  2. Courage isn’t confined to the battlefield. I hope this young woman gets to see a free, peaceful Russia someday.

  3. 3 years for calling for peace, just goes to show how incompatible Russia is with the civilized world.

  4. The russian federation is one of the worst gulag states of present times.

  5. Fucking 4 years into a war and they haven’t figured out that maybe poetry isn’t going to cut it?

Poor dumb fools. Even Prigozhin could figure it out.

  6. Hey there Vatniks! Leftist Tankies! Pro Putin alt-righters! Why no comments on posts like these?

Always happy to blame NATO or the woke west in other places, but curiously quiet when the undisguised truth of Russia is on display.

    Let’s see you defend this.

  7. Seems like 3 days would be more appropriate. Shouldn’t it be over by then?

  8. Yet another proof that russia is a faschist state.

  9. Russia is at least 200 years behind when it comes to societal and governmental values.

And they wonder why people don’t see them as European .. 9_9

Also, Putin has no pee pee. And he can’t help himself proving it constantly.

  10. penal colony

    I’m sorry, WHAT?

    This sounds like North Korea.

  11. < Pam Bondi & Stephen Miller furiously scribbling notes >

  12. What? But Putin said this doesn’t happen unless they’re funded by outside countries and won’t declare that.

  13. A small thing to note: this article, and conviction, is from April of this year. That said, Russia is showcasing how the Gulag is alive and well.

  14. That’s a rough 19, life must be pretty hard in Russia.

  15. I always see the sentiment on here that Russians must want the war, otherwise they would “just rise up” or “just overthrow the government”.

Here’s why that isn’t possible. Take note. If you’re not willing to go to prison for criticizing your government then it’s unfair to expect the average Russian to.

  16. This is why people don’t rise up, unfortunately Russia cracks down hard before dissent can build up from a snowball into an avalanche

  17. My friend’s parent was just claimed as a terrorist yesterday just for liking someone post in telegram channel (there is a feature that if you put a star to post, it gives very-very small amount to creator, like paid rewards on reddit) so it was counted as a donation of terrorism. He will probably get 10-15 years in prison for it. It is very sad and friend is forced to relocate ASAP because of that.

It causes so much pain and it is disgusting how much censorship and dictatorship is now in russia. While russia was always slowly becoming more and more censored during Putin as a president, it is so scary how after war start it literally turned to gulag state with such speed. And the scariest part that it isn’t stopping, only accelerating…

  18. so happy I live in the free west, where you only get 4yeas in prison for Facebook comments.

  19. I’m reading a book, and it describes the army state of russia under KGB and putin absolute horror
