Can’t read behind the paywall, but that’s sad – 74 is young these days. I guess last year was the last time he was driving home for Christmas and none of us knew it
So is he not driving home this yearÂ
Guess he won’t be driving home for christmas this year
I shall listen to Steel River tonight and have a drink to him
Great song writer and a bloody good guitarist
😢 RIP. I loved his music
So, no more placing eggs in people’s baths.
hope he wasn’t driving at the time!
more seriously, a sad loss, he was good
What’s up with people with big Christmas hits dying so close to Christmas
So he’s been driven home for Christmas
Very sad news. He brought joy to millions. May he rest in peace.
Was he driving?
My and my little brother have had an in joke for decades which involves us repeating “she said… what? I said, Texas. She said… what? I said, Texas. She said… what? I said, Texas. She said…I’m leaving you now Chris” which only ever amuses the two of us. I have a feeling we are going to do this a lot over the next few days.
On The Beach was a banger
Gonna buy a hat. 😔
Organised a work Christmas quiz for my team yesterday, he was the first quiz question..
Why do I feel guilty!
Sad news, I loved his work, R.I.P.
RIP Chris Rea
Hopefully the Christmas royalty cheque arrives in time to pay for the funeral.
Joking aside, seemed like a dude. Rest easy, sir.
Noddy Holder will be looking nervously
Won’t be driving home for Xmas. Rip Chris. Road to hell and auberge are quality albums.
Driving Home wasn’t his best track , his later albums had a lot of excellent guitar playing, I recommend ‘Damcing With Strangers ‘ and ‘Auberge’, also ‘Tennis ‘ from 1980, which includes the track ‘Stick It’, a good ‘closing credits’ track to remember him by.
Just think of his poor lonely car, stuck in traffic, alone.
Who?
Blue lights all around
He is not driving home for Christmas this year!
He sang practically the only Xmas song I can bear listening too.
