A LANDMARK Yeovil supermarket is closing in the new year.
Iceland, at the Quedam Centre, is set to shut the doors for the final time on Saturday, January 10.
Notices to shoppers in-store say the branch will close at 4pm on that day.
“Sorry we’re closing,” the notice said. “This store is permanently closing from 4pm on Saturday, January 10.”
Iceland alternative, The Food Warehouse, has a branch at the Yeovil Retail park, in Babylon Hill.

Shoppers have reacted with shock to the news.
One said: “Very sad indeed for people who just get the bus into town then take advantage of the delivery service, as well as the workers just popping in on way home to pick up a few things needed.”
Another wrote: “Shame it can’t be moved into Middle Street but probably cost prohibitive. It’s rather tucked away in Quedam. Having said that there’s still closures there too.”
“That’s really sad that Iceland is really handy,” said one shopper, with another adding: “This is a big loss to the Quedam Shopping Centre. With Dunelm just reopened, the mall is going to be busy and it’s such a shame for all the staff in Iceland.”
