Police told reporters that a passerby contacted emergency services after spotting a person on the street suffering from obvious signs of trauma.

A man was found with multiple stab wounds and was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The man has since been identified as 44-year-old Jeremy Russell.

Investigators say they located an initial suspect, Nicholas Robbins, 33, of Oshawa, on Tuesday.

He is charged with second-degree murder.

A second suspect, identified as 44-year-old Michael Waterman, also of Oshawa, is still wanted for second-degree murder.

Police add that Russell, Robbins, and Waterman were all known to each other.

Investigators say Waterman is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If seen, contact 911.

Detectives are urging Waterman to contact counsel and turn himself in. Anyone found assisting him in evading police will be prosecuted under the Criminal Code of Canada, they add.

Waterman is also wanted by the Peterborough Police Service for second-degree murder in connection with a homicide on Dec. 6 that resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man.
