Six Christmas babies have been born at Landspítali over the past two days. Midwives at the Björk birthing centre also assisted with one home birth this morning, and one baby was born last night at the West Iceland Healthcare Institution.
Four babies were born at Landspítali on Christmas Eve, and two more have been born there so far today.
At Akureyri Hospital, no Christmas babies have been born, although one baby was born there on Þorláksmessa. The same applies to the South Iceland Healthcare Institution.
Quiet in Selfoss
No Christmas or Þorláksmessa babies have been born at the South Iceland Healthcare Institution in Selfoss.
Likewise, no babies have been born at the Reykjavík Birth Centre this Christmas.
