I watched the classic Norwegian film "Reise til Julestjernen" yesterday, and my niece translated what was going on in the movie. She said onde greven was the bad guy, but I didn't like that she was so quick to judge a character, even if they did some heinous things. I mean, they don't even give him a real name, everyone just calls him evil. How is that fair? And he gets bullied quite a bit. Hopefully this video will give this character the depth he deserves after 50 years of misrepresentation.

Actually they (generally) just call him the Count, just as the king is just the King.
There are actually very few of the characters in the movie that has actual names. After a quick search it’s only 3: Sonja/Prinsesse Gulltopp, Petrine, and Ole (the princess/main character, and two of the servants).
There are also 3 characters which could be considered names, but can also just be titles/roles, Julenissen (Santa Claus), Harlekin, and Columbine (both from the group of travelling performers, and the name of stock characters from Commedia dell’arte).
