Kim Jong-un has showed off his chilling 8,700-ton nuclear-powered submarine while sending an eerie warning to his neighbour.
The North Korean dictator proudly displayed his apparent progress in building the massive underwater sub, during a visit to a shipyard. The despot inspected the nuclear vessel, which he called a crucial step in the modernisation and nuclear armament of his country’s navy.
North Korea has long shared plans to load this submarine with horror nuclear weapons to create what he called a “strategic guided missile submarine”. Amid posing with the monster submarine, Jong-un found time to condemn his enemy South Korea.

North Korea’s state owned press said the dictator visited the construction of the 8,700-ton-class nuclear-propelled submarine. During his trip, he described South Korea’s efforts to get their hands on similar technology as “offensive act”.
The despot claimed this move by his neighbours, which has also been slammed by Donald Trump, severely violated the North’s security and maritime sovereignty. Jong-un then used the South Korean plan as an excuse to further push his meddling desire to advance and nuclear-arm North Korea’s navy.
He also claimed the completion of his nuclear-powered submarine would be an “epoch-making” change in strengthening it’s nuclear war deterrent against what he called enemy threats. The images shared from the visit showed the tyrant standing next to a huge, burgundy-coloured vessel, coated with what appears to be anti-corrosion paint.
Jong-un even brought his daughter with him to the assembly hall, along with senior officials. This is the first time North Korean state media had released images of the submarine since March, when they mostly showed the lower sections of the vessel.
It was not revealed exactly how close Pyongyang was to finishing the huge vessel, however submarines are typically built from the inside out. Therefore, images showing a mostly completed hull could suggest many of the most crucial parts of the sub, like an engine or reactor, could already be in place.
A nuclear-powered submarine was one item on a long wish list of sophisticated weaponry that Kim announced during a major political conference in 2021.
The despot, at the time, claimed his nation needed the extra military power to fight what he called growing US-led military threats. Other weapons on this dictator’s sick list included solid-fuelled intercontinental ballistic missiles, hypersonic weapons, spy satellites and multi-warhead missiles.
This new apparent nuclear sub could be bad news for the unhinged dictator’s neighbours as the vessel could be capable of operating stealthily for extended periods and launching missiles from underwater. These sorts of horror launches could be particularly difficult to detect ahead of time.
This trip marks yet another appearance of Jong-un with his young daughter. The North Korean despot brought his girl along with him to attend a Chinese military parade, back in September, as she stole surprised watchers’ attention. Kim Ju Ae was not previously typically seen in public and her existence was a mystery until a famous basketball star let it slip, back in 2013.
