  1. ban what? pedicabs? advertising on picadilly? pickpockets? christmas?

  2. Very likely it is banned. Almost all are unregistered motor vehicles working as hackney carriages. They need mot, tax, insurance that covers carrying passengers for reward, a driving licence, having completed the knowledge and more.

  3. Absolute stain on the city, they have them in New York too and they’re equally as bad

  4. They’re a rip-off, and kind of scammy. Should at the very least be more regulated/monitored.

  5. They even look unsightly in Blackpool, *that’s* how ghastly they are.

  6. I walk through London regularly and the police do nothing. Now it’s cold some of them park on the pavement and pedal back and forth to keep warm without know if anyone’s behind them, I’ve almost been taken out a few times.

  7. I thought you were talking about the rancid AI advert

  8. I’ve lost Whammageddon twice thanks to these things.

Yeah there are undoubtedly other reasons they’re problematic as well, but that made it personal.

  9. From someone living in central London. The worst is not aesthetics. It’s the fucking noise pollution coming from these. And the drunk annoying people using them.

  10. If these don’t have a licence to operate, who do they complain to if a customer just gets out at the destination and walks away without paying?

Never used one but scamming the scammers is a tantalising thought.

  11. These just look like Safety hazards written all over them.

  12. They don’t have insurance either. And it’s absolutely scammy as hell.

  13. I thought we were talking about the billboard ads. Can we ban those eyesores too?

  14. I gently suggested they some blocking key paths once. The response, never heard language like it in my life. Vile.

  15. Why would anyone want these?? If they were banned tomorrow what would the negative impact be??

  16. Ban them completely. They serve no purpose other than to rip off tourists. No regular Londoner would ever use them.
