Those who live on the coastline – brace for impact. Havent' seen any official warnings yet, but this looks terrifying (this is for saturday-sunday night, 43 knots = around 80km/h strong winds)
That is about 20 m/s, nothing to worry about. 35 m/s is serious, that is about 70 knots
Rīdzinieki jau pielika bikses
Ahā, 43 kilotonnu kodolraķete, labs.
Atnāca tiko no meteo.lv paziņojums.
To my knowledge, the highest wind speed ever registered in gusts was 51 m/s (99 knots) in 2005 near Grobiņa. Overall, the 1967 storm was far more destructive though.
Apart from this observation, I’ll refrain from forecasts, because a few month ago I wrote here that «we usually don’t get storms in October», and the following week a tree fell near my house (it was a fairly local storm, however).
