Clean energy is still winning. These 10 charts prove it. Solar and wind are beating new power demand, steelmaking is slowly getting off coal, and more clean energy victories are clear. Despite Trump, clean energy is leading the way even in the US.

  1. They show 23% being batteries. Which is a bit disingenuous.

Batteries don’t generate power. And they power they deliver isn’t carbon free is the e electricity used to charge them wasn’t carbon free.

  2. The only way to win the battle against fossil fuels is to win on the economics front. The trump administration makes this harder by killing subsidies, contracts, etc. but renewables will eventually overcome that hurdle too

  3. The combination of cheaper to build and cheaper to produce, and less dependence on a source that is controlled by markets, makes renewables very attractive to utilities. Ultimately, they have to look to the future, and the future of oil and coal are that as the supplies diminish, the price of them will go up. It’s inevitable. While renewables will still need to be supplemented by stable plants until the storage issue can be solved, for the time being, government subsidies or not, the trend will be to renewables.

  4. Every homeowner should have panels. Free electricity all summer long.
