SOCAR Türkiye, a subsidiary of the Azerbaijani state-owned oil and gas company SOCAR, has completed the acquisition of the Central Anatolia Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant from Turkish GAMA Enerji.

The facility, located in Kırıkkale, Türkiye, has an installed capacity of 870 megawatts (MW) and plays a strategically important role in Türkiye’s electricity supply.

“We believe that this acquisition will enhance the long-term market resilience of SOCAR Türkiye,” said SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf. “Through this investment, we are taking an important step within our strategy for electricity generation from natural gas, aiming both to contribute to the Turkish economy and to ensure more efficient utilisation of natural gas across our group of companies.”
