Politics meets irony

  1. The thing about Idiocracy is, when you watch it, Joe and Rita don’t find it funny at all. It’s not funny to be subjected to morons running the world.

It’s funny to watch, but not to live through. So I sure hope there are some aliens up there, pissing themselves laughing.

  2. The irony is real, This is a perfect example of not understanding what you’re supporting

  3. The GOP will be successful with arguments like this.

Mark my words, when insurance rates quadruple early next year, “Obamacare” will be blamed. Many Americans will demand it be scrapped so they can get ACA insurance. Democrats will be blamed for the unavailability of less expensive ACA insurance. And that line of “reasoning” will be pursuasive with a large fraction of the electorate.

  4. It also doesn’t help that they have a “News” station literally lying to their face about it while also convincing them their network is the only one telling the truth.

  5. That’s why the GOP called it obamacare. They have to lie in order to get into power.

  6. It’s a shame that the party of death keeps killing off their voter base.

    Not an American.

  7. Making up a quote, putting it in someone’s’ mouth, then calling it stupid. Brilliant!

  8. Keeping people stupid and poor is the first step in authoritarianism

  9. Do you think these MAGA dupes who incessantly trash “Obamacare” know that one of the largest demographics to benefit from the ACA by obtaining their healthcare coverage through its programs just happens to be Republicans and Trump supporters living in rural areas around the country?

Of course they don’t, that’s a rhetorical question. They’re terribly uninformed.

In fact, according to recent polls, 70% of Americans want to see ACA subsidies extended.

A vast majority of these ACA enrollees blame the Republican Party for rising healthcare costs

And moreover, close to two-thirds of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of healthcare in general.

I’m still waiting for the Trump healthcare plan that was promised two weeks from now… *EIGHT YEARS AGO.*

Now that the government shutdown fiasco is behind them, Republicans will just continue lying about their commitment to a “better” healthcare plan, or instead of universal healthcare, the GOP will push for universally privatizing health care.

And even though another deadline looms overhead, Republicans probably feel more confident about securing a deal this time around due to how the shutdown ended.

That said, and despite what Republicans might argue about “trusting the market,” their apparent support for privatizing healthcare to whatever extent they can will only lead to things like more profit seeking and denied claims, exploding premiums and healthcare costs, hospital shutdowns, unequal access to services and less accessibility to care for low-income individuals and families, and among other things, a lot more dead poor people.

Not to mention how this will also translate into lax regulations and lack of oversight, transparency and accountability, and of course made possible by more discreet lobbying, the lining of pockets and a growing number of conflicts of interest.

Oh, i’m still waiting for that Trump healthcare plan…

But there is no “plan.” There’s not even a “concept of a plan.” Instead, we’re getting empty promises and political charades from an administration and Republican party that’s trying desperately to divert attention away from Trump’s incompetence when it comes to public health, his utter mishandling the economy and the consequences of his tariff policies and his big ugly bill.

Trump’s agenda is ballooning the national debt and deficit while Republicans are locking in higher healthcare costs and cuts to Medicaid and food assistance that don’t even begin to remotely offset the costs of Trump’s other policies like tax breaks and incentives for the rich and corporations and his excessive spending on national security, defense and military intervention both at home and abroad.

  10. IQ test manipulation is another quiet front in this war. As outlined in the [Skews.Me](http://Skews.Me) article, average IQ scores have been artificially pegged at 100 through a process called “test norming.” In this system, every few years, new IQ tests are recalibrated so that the average result still reads as 100—even if actual performance has declined. This has masked a long-term downward trend in analytical thinking skills, especially in younger generations. “Encoded Illusion”

  11. It’s wild how many people don’t realize they’re rooting for the very thing that helps them. Irony at its finest…

  12. I live In kansas now and I have heard the same shit. They have nothing to say when I tell them Kancare =obamacare

  13. The funny thing is I have heard people make this exact argument before unironically.
