We had a really good time on this two-week trip. Everyone was so friendly, and I was genuinely surprised at how calm Scottish drivers are! There was nothing near any sort of road rage. The nature was, of course, great, but every guided tour we did was interesting and fun, too. I hope to come back sometime and finish the Ben Nevis hike (we only managed 1,000 metres of ascent due to the rain and weather).

  1. Neist Point Lighthouse
  2. Old Man of Storr
  3. Quiraing
  4. Dunrobin Castle
  5. Glenfinnan Viaduct with Jacobite Steam Train
  6. Eilean Donan Castle
  7. Some Highland Cows
  8. Sheep on Isle of Skye
  9. Sheeps at Neist Point
  10. A hill between Loch Lomond and Fort William (maybe one of you knows the name/region?)

  1. I’m usually of the ‘man, not another generic “look at these pictures of Scotland I took” post’ kind of attitude but I have to say these are beautiful. You’ve got a great eye and an appreciation for composition, lighting and colour. Particularly like the Eileen Donan pic, really nice application of the ‘rule of thirds’!

Glad you had fun in our wee corner of the world.

  2. hope you saw someone standing by the road playing bagpipes…

  3. Great photos, thanks for sharing, a few good screensavers there.

  4. These are spectacular. Very atmospheric. There’s a few Facebook groups who would really appreciate this.

  5. Beautiful, you could use a few of those pics for a Scotland brochure

  6. Cracking photos! You captured the character well. Excellent to hear that you enjoyed your visit.

My best guess for number 10 is Beinn Dorain – which sits next to Bridge of Orchy. There’s a layby to the south (on the road towards Tyndrum) that gives this view – looking roughly north with the Auch Estate to the right, along with the West Highland Way and the railway line.

  7. #1 is my all-time favorite! Thank you for sharing! Can’t wait to be able to capture my own moments there.
