Wolf woes: in Europe, an estimated 60% of all wolf deaths are due to illegal hunting, even though the wolf is a protected species under EU law. Counting legal hunting and roadkill, ~86% of all wolf deaths in Europe are caused by humans. These percentages are far higher than for North America / USA

  1. Norwegian wolves are extinct long ago, these are imports from sweden.

  2. What are the other 14%?
    Sheep fighting back?

Plenty of wolves in Finland and Russia – there are something fishy about the “Norwegian” wolves.

  3. Here in Norway, in the areas where wolves live, there are many peasants and people without any formal education. They see things differently than the rest of the country. When talking to someone with an 89 IQ, you can’t reason rationally with them, so it’s tough to convince them of anything. The people who hunt wolves illegally are people who are just one notch away from claiming the earth is flat, using arguments like: “You can see it’s flat? Can’t you??”

  4. As a hunter i think the wolves should be able to repopulate in a controlled manner. There are too few individuals allowed to stay alive, perpetuating inbreeding which is harmful to wolves as a whole.

Wolves are native to Norway, doesn’t matter if we hunted them to extinction years and years ago.

  5. Wolves are not needed in Norway. Theres about 30.000+ wolves in eastern Europe, so our 100 inbred individuals add nothing of value.

  6. er så fint at den mest subsidiserte bransjen i hele norge ser det nødvendig å gunne ned villdyr som ikke påvirker bunnlinjen deres i det hele tatt.
