More than three decades after their final tour together, the individual members of Talking Heads – David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison are far from inactive and in 2026 a little Talking Heads spirit is coming to Australia.

DAVID BYRNE
The highlight of course is the impending ‘Who Is The Sky?’ tour by David Byrne, which will feature many Talking Heads classics such as: Heaven, And She Was, Slippery People, Psycho Killer, Life During Wartime, Once in Lifetime, and Burning Down The House to name a few.
The tour also focusses on Byrne’s latest album Who Is The Sky?, which he released in 2025. It’s his first new studio album since American Utopia in 2018. His “Who Is The Sky?” tour will visit Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, bringing his genre-bending live show to Australian audiences, his first major tour here in eight years.

Harrison’s Remain in Light project is booked to appear at Byron Bay Bluesfest (2-5 April 2026), bringing this dynamic reinterpretation to one of Australia’s biggest music festivals. In early April 2026, the Remain in Light show will also perform standalone headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, blending the festival experience with theatre-style performances.

TINA WEYMOUTH & CHRIS FRANZ
While bassist Tina Weymouth and drummer Chris Frantz haven’t announced major headline tours for 2026, they remain involved in music history events and legacy celebrations related to Talking Heads and their broader influence in art-pop and new wave. Their earlier project, Tom Tom Club, continues to be celebrated among fans globally.
Tina and Chris last performed together just a few days ago on December 28, 2025 at the annual CBGB’s celebration at FTC Warehouse in Connecticut.
TALKING HEADS REUNION?
In late 2023, all four original members of Talking Heads reunited for a memorable appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. They discussed their early days, influences and the making of Stop Making Sense, and shared stories that delighted fans, including humorous speculation about reunions, though no official plans emerged from the segment. This rare gathering on late-night television served as a high-profile reminder of the band’s cultural legacy and provided fresh momentum for anniversary projects and reissues. Byrne has since publicly stated he’s not interested in a full Talking Heads reunion tour, calling that idea a “fool’s errand” and expressing that his creative direction now is firmly rooted in his solo work.
