The Alcácer do Sal pedestrian bridge will undergo renovations, representing an investment costing approximately €600,000.

The proposal to award the contract for the rehabilitation of the Alcácer do Sal pedestrian bridge was unanimously approved at a Council meeting held on December 23.

The work, which will be carried out by the company AJP Matos Pinheiro, Ld.ª, represents a municipal investment of over €600,000 “and aims to rehabilitate this important infrastructure for pedestrian crossing of the Sado River, which shows clear signs of deterioration,” says the Alcácer do Sal City Council.

The works to be carried out include the general rehabilitation of the bridge’s metal structure, the application of a new surface paint coating, the replacement of the tie rods, and the replacement of the deck pavement and access platforms to the bridge.

The project has a deadline of 240 days.
