It’s great in Scotland cause 95% of our graffiti is Celtic/rangers rubbish which is classed as ‘offensive’. Means the unit can’t go out into service and must be cleaned immediately. In places like London they just allow them out looking like this

Train driver here. It’s definitely got worse.
It’s at a point that where I drive we can’t take the trains out of service to clean anymore because we’d literally have none for passengers. We had one cleaned a few weeks before Christmas, the same day it returned to service it ended up like this by the time service finished.

I’ve noticed this on london tube trains too recently. Not minor graffiti, but full blown pieces as pictured.
I live next to the west coast mainline. I must see dozens of GWR trains a day, I have never seen one with graffiti.
There (atleast to me) has been an increase on Southeastern trains, but this might just be the ones carrying through from Ashford or something similar.
I, personally, don’t care. If anything I enjoy the fact is breaks up the monotonous day to day. I understand most people will be against that sentiment though (funnily, a very pro banksy crowd too)
is this at reading?
Looks p cool
Not just GWR, lots of companies are seeing a resurgence just now, even the previously heavily secured tube, main reason, same as anything just now really, not as much money going round to pay for staff, depot security, maintenance etc, all getting cut.
What’s the point they hardly go anywhere anyway. 🤷
And it never looks good its always random words that look horrible
I don’t understand why someone would want to do this… But then, we’ve been doing similar things since before we had even farming.
Adds some colors to this otherwise dull country.
I know a bit about this as I know *certain* people.
Previously, stuff used to get cleaned off quickly and trains were only for photos. But I guess money and staff has ended up with trains not being cleaned as much now and security not caring, it’s not just trains as well since the last time I was in the UK there was a lot more graffiti around, in places where it wasn’t really seen before.
I think it’s beautiful, certainly much better than the various grey patches they use to buff stuff on walls.
Always thought this proper artsy graffiti looked sick, especially on the side of trains.
I gets its like owned property or whatever but idk, just my 2 cents.
I’m pleased this is happening. It’s so cool seeing these amazing artworks on the trains.
the only way to get a bit of colour on a gwr service without paying for a first class upgrade. security must have been having a long tea break
Stuff like this is ok I for one think that the talented artists should be commissioned to paint all trains as long as it’s good could do some absolutely amazing things
People complain about train prices one minute and encourage graffiti the next.

That’s just their new “Graffiti With Rail” branding to try and connect with Gen Z.
They’re also transitioning to run 6-7 trains an hour.
If by “tagged” you mean vandalised, yea.
What does that even say? I’m terrible at reading graffiti lol. It does look kinda cool tbh. Like cake/donut letters.

Yeah I think it must’ve happened over the holidays where there were less staff working
